This film tells the story of Molière, how a little boy born in 1622, son of an upholster and a good mother gone too soon, have become this genious actor, this universal author will all think to know? That is what we’re going to discover during the whole movie.
We will follow him from his childhood to his death during the French 17th Century, an era tainted with both savagery and refinement. We will discover his fellow companions in joy, misery and glory, his first theatrical attempts, his failures, his successes, his fights and his fears.
We will live within Moliere’s troupe, be the witnesses of a great epopee where religious people and debauchees, starving peasants and sycophants bump into each others. This will tell the life of an honest man who struggles till exhaustion for an art during these hard years of oppression and violent repression. And this fight will finally lead him to Versailles.
